There are hundreds of traffic cameras in the City of Albuquerque, and traffic camera footage can be essential to proving who was at fault in a collision. Unfortunately, if you are involved in an accident and you think a traffic camera might have caught the collision, there is absolutely no time to waste to request the footage.
In the City of Albuquerque, the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) retains traffic video footage for only 24 hours. After that time, the video footage is erased unless RTCC receives a request to retain footage. You can submit a request through the City's Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) portal, available here: https://nextrequest.cabq.gov/. Include as much detail as you can about the collision, including the time it occurred and the location.
If you've been involved in a collision, reach out to Shekter Law the same day, if possible, so we can move to preserve this vital evidence as quickly as possible.
